Mission Garden and Tumamoc Hill

April 6, 2019 @ 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

$20

April 6 at 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Join AAHS for a visit at Mission Garden, where you’ll journey back in time to see what this area along the Santa Cruz looked like over the past 4,000 years.  Learn about produce and the need to preserve it for later consumption and seed harvesting.  The Mission Garden is located in the same spot where the 18th Century San Agustin garden was planted by Spanish missionaries.  Prior to that these same fields provided crops for the inhabitants of Tumamoc.

After the Mission Garden, visit Tumamoc Hill, the world’s oldest ecological restoration site, and the site of the remains of a preceramic village (500-300BC) and early Hohokam village (AD 475-700).  Please note that there will be a carpool up to the top of the hill.

There will be a cost of $20 for this trip to cover fees .  The trip is limited to 20 people.
