San Xavier del Bac

Join Arizona Archaeological Historical Society for a personalized tour of the Mission San Xavier del Bac led by Craig Reid.  The original mission was founded in 1692 by Padre Eusebio Kino in the center of the centuries-old Indian settlement of the Sobaipuri O’odham located along the banks of the Santa Cruz River.  The original church was built to the north of the present Franciscan church. This northern church served the mission until being razed during an Apache raid in 1770.  Today’s mission was built between 1783-1797 and is the oldest European structure in Arizona.

The tour will start at noon and last an hour.  The tour is limited to 20 people.  A $5 donations is requested per person to support the Mission.
