Volunteers for May’s Second Saturday

The Oro Valley Historical Society is needing volunteers for Saturday, May 13th at Steam Pump Ranch.

Docents and Aspiring Docents: Responsibilities are to meet and greet visitors and give tours of the Pusch Ranch house.  New docents will shadow our regular docents and receive printed information regarding the Pusch family. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing.

Hours 9:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m.

Water and Book Sellers:  Responsibilities include selling bottles of water for $1.00 and/ or the selling of Barbara Marriot’s book “Canyon Of Gold” for $10.00 to visitors at the ranch.  Volunteers will be stationed under a tent near the market area.  Please wear comfortable shoes, clothing and a hat.

Membership: Duties are to hand out information brochures about OVHS and seek new memberships from people visiting Steam Pump.  Volunteers will be stationed under a tent near the market area.  Please wear comfortable shoes, clothing and a hat.

Heritage Garden: Volunteers will assist in garden activities, please contact Joyce Rychener at joyceholloway2@gmail.com for more information.

OVHS: Volunteers Needed

We have a division of the OVHS that is “The Collections Committee.” The Collections Committee helps collect, preserve, and register historic and prehistoric artifacts of Oro Valley area.

The group meets once a month and discusses past and current projects. This division needs volunteers to join the group

because they are short-handed; as they continue to obtain more projects.

Annual Meeting March 23, 2013

All members are invited to the OV Historical Society

annual meeting on Thursday, March 23 at the Oro

Valley Community Center(Sunset Room), 10555 N. La Canada Drive.

The meeting will begin at 3:00 pm.  If you have not

sent in your ballot or voted via email, you may bring

it to the meeting. We need to receive all ballots before

the speaker.

Our speaker will be Robert Simpson.  He will discuss

“John Nelson and the Lost Chance Ranch.”  Refreshments

and a short board meeting will follow Bob’s presentation.

We hope you can attend!
