End of 2024 Activities – Don’t Miss Out!
Can you believe 2024 is almost over? Well, the Oro Valley Historical Society is still going strong heading into the holidays!
While you are there, you can support the Society by purchasing a ticket or tickets ($25 for one and $100 for five) to the Jim Click raffle which will end for us on November 23. If you missed seeing the Jim Click First Place Prize of the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Plug-in Hybrid (MSRP starting at $61,180) at Steam Pump Ranch last month, you missed seeing a great ride for your adventures! The second-place prize is two round-trip first-class tickets to anywhere in the world. The third-place prize is $5,000 — all prizes worthy of a donation to the Oro Valley Historical Society! Due to the kindness of Jim Click, OHVS gets to keep ALL the proceeds! So, buy a ticket, keep your fingers crosssed, and support us as we keep Oro Valley History alive!
Also, on November 20, to help you get ready for the holidays, the Society will host a presentation at 1:00pm at the Oro Valley Public Library. Award winning local author, Catherine Niethammer, will discuss “What’s for Dinner: Northern Pima County 1000 B.C.” Her most recent book, A Desert Feast, Celebrating Tucson’s Culinary History, will be the basis of her discussion and available for sale. Who knows? You may discover unique comestibles to adorn your holiday table! As always, the presentation is complimentary, and donations to the Oro Valley Historical Society are welcome. Catherine will have her books available for sale.
The Museum will be closed on November 30, and we will be back open on December 7 with our exhibit
”Decking the Halls with Many Traditions” which will be available every Saturday from 9 a.m. – noon at Steam Pump Ranch. It will feature traditions from Southern Arizona, Mexico, Germany (where George Pusch was born), and elsewhere. This exhibit will be available until January 4 and is sure to make your holidays bright!
