UPDATE:
Bob Kellar by new signs made possible by a grant from the Oro Valley Chamber Foundation. Signs were installed July 15, 2025.

President Bob Kellar celebrates our new signs, funded by the OV Chamber Foundation.

As of July 15, 2025, permanent signs now mark most buildings with rich historical details!  See them for yourself with this easy walking tour:  What are ALL Those Buildings at Steam Pump Ranch?

Oro Valley Chamber LogoThank you to the Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce for its continued support, most recently through the Oro Valley Chamber Foundation grant awarded to the Oro Valley Historical Society in September 2024!

This grant will allow us to install permanent signage at Steam Pump Ranch, bringing Oro Valley’s history to life for visitors year-round. As a volunteer-driven organization funded by grants and donations, we often lack the resources to share historical information as effectively as we’d like. While docents provide guided experiences on Saturday mornings from September through April, visitors outside these times may struggle to grasp the significance of the Ranch’s structures and stories.

With this grant, we can create informative, lasting displays that showcase Steam Pump Ranch as Oro Valley’s historical center. The project is set for completion within a year, but with 2025 marking our 20th anniversary, we aim to finish even sooner. We are deeply grateful for the Chamber Foundation’s trust in our mission to preserve and share Oro Valley’s rich history.
